NEW WINDSOR – Armed with a search warrant on Thursday, police raided a residence on Stonecrest Drive in the Town of New Windsor and seized 400 grams of cocaine, three AR-15-style assault rifles, several magazines, ammunition, and $3,900 in cash.
Lazurus Rodriguez, 30, of New Windsor was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.
“This operation demonstrates the continued dedication and collaboration of our local, state and federal partners in combating the illegal drug trade and ensuring the safety of our community,” said New Windsor Chief Danial Valeri. The arrest and seizure of the drugs and firearms “have successfully disrupted a significant narcotics operation.”
Participating in the investigtion were New Windsor Police, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, State Police, City of Newburgh Police, and the US Postal Inspection service.
