Police nab two who made bomb threat at Walmart

AIRMONT – Two men have been arrested and charged with the felony of making a terrorist threat.

Francky Charles, 21, of Spring Valley, and Roosevelt Depas, 22, from Nyack were arrested on March 121, arraigned and released without bail pending future court appearances.

Ramapo Town Police said it is alleged that they entered the Walmart store in Airmont on Sunday, March 9, and conveyed that they had a bomb.

The men fled before the police arrived, but the building was evacuated and searched by a number of law enforcement agencies with the aid of K9s specializing in explosive detection. No explosives were found.

Ramapo Police were assisted at the scene by the FBI Task Force, State Intelligence Center, Rockland County Intelligence Center, Rockland County Crime Analysis Center, County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the sheriff’s K9 unit, and Town of Clarkstown Police K9 unit.
