SAUGERTIES – Former Ulster County Legislator Robert Aiello of Saugerties was “a dedicated public servant who brought passion, energy, and a deep love for his community to his work in the legislature,” current Legislature Chairman Peter Criswell said.
Aiello passed away on Sunday, March 16 at age 76.
He served on the legislature from 1995 to 2013 and “was never afraid to speak his mind, always striving to make a positive impact on the lives of those he served.”
Criswell reflected that beyond his public service, his “warmth, authenticity, and commitment to building meaningful connections left a lasting impression on all who knew him.”
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph RC Church in Saugerties.
