Trump Warns Iran of Severe Consequences Over Houthi Attacks

By Gloria Ogbonna

Former President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran on Monday, making it clear that any further attacks by Iran-backed Houthi militants would result in severe repercussions.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that Iran would be “held responsible, and suffer the consequences” for every shot fired by the Houthis.

He accused Iran of deceitfully portraying itself as an innocent bystander while actively fueling the conflict in the Middle East.

“Let nobody be fooled!” Trump wrote. “The hundreds of attacks being made by Houthi, the sinister mobsters and thugs based in Yemen, who are hated by the Yemeni people, all emanate from, and are created by, IRAN.

Any further attack or retaliation by the ‘Houthis’ will be met with great force, and there is no guarantee that that force will stop there.”

Trump emphasized that Iran is not merely an uninvolved nation struggling to control rogue terrorist groups but is, in fact, their primary enabler. He accused Tehran of providing the Houthis with sophisticated military weapons, financial resources, and intelligence to carry out attacks against American interests and allies in the region.

“Iran has played ‘the innocent victim’ of rogue terrorists from which they’ve lost control, but they haven’t lost control,” Trump asserted. “They’re dictating every move, giving them the weapons, supplying them with money and highly sophisticated Military equipment, and even, so-called, ‘Intelligence.’ Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN, and IRAN will be held responsible, and suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire!”

Decisive Military Action Against the Houthis

Trump’s strong rhetoric followed his earlier announcement that the U.S. military would conduct airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen in retaliation for recent attacks on American vessels and aircraft.

“Today, I have ordered the United States Military to launch decisive and powerful Military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen,” Trump wrote in a separate Truth Social post over the weekend.

“They have waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American, and other, ships, aircraft, and drones.”

His statement came after multiple reports of Houthi forces targeting international shipping routes and U.S. military assets in the region.

Breitbart News’s Frances Martel reported that Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Iran-backed Houthi movement, had openly threatened to escalate attacks against American military operations in the Middle East.

Iran’s Role in the Houthi Insurgency

The Houthis, an extremist militant group based in Yemen, have long received direct support from Iran, including advanced weaponry, military training, and financial backing. Their continued aggression has heightened tensions in the region, prompting the U.S. and its allies to respond with defensive measures.

Trump’s latest remarks signal his firm stance against Iranian-sponsored terrorism and his willingness to take decisive action against Tehran if its proxies continue their attacks.

As tensions escalate, Trump’s warning underscores the possibility of broader military engagement between the U.S. and Iran should the Houthis persist in their assaults.

The situation remains fluid, with the international community closely watching to see how both sides will respond in the coming days.
