#DYK PSUs (port security unit) are a mobilized work force that provide unique response capabilities to hurricanes, presidential inaugurations and various deployments and exercises? They can be deployed within 96 hours and self-sustaining for up to 30 days.
A PSU is made up of approximately 150 people, staffed primarily by members of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, and consist of boat crews, security squads/command, logistics, communications and engineering departments.
