In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, the Utah Jazz secured a 118-113 overtime victory against the Portland Trail Blazers. Collin Sexton led the Jazz with a season-high 25 points, while Keyonte George shone with a career-high 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists. John Collins contributed 17 points, and Omer Yurtseven grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds.
Malcolm Brogdon and Shaedon Sharpe were the top performers for the Trail Blazers, each scoring 25 points, with Scoot Henderson adding a career-high 17.
Sexton emphasized the team’s need to support each other, especially during crucial moments in overtime. Despite Brogdon’s efforts narrowing the gap in the fourth quarter, Sexton’s clutch free throws and a solid defensive play by Toumani Camara forced the game into overtime.
Yurtseven’s decisive putback dunk in overtime secured the win for the Jazz. George praised Yurtseven’s vital contribution, highlighting his hard work and leadership on and off the court.
The Jazz took control in the second half, utilizing a 29-9 run to establish a 56-40 lead in the second quarter. Portland struggled to score during a crucial five-minute stretch in the second quarter.
Jerami Grant exited the game in the fourth quarter due to a collision with Yurtseven, and Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups mentioned that Grant would be reexamined for a possible concussion on Sunday.
Looking ahead, the Trail Blazers will face the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, while the Jazz will take on the Dallas Mavericks on the same night.
