At the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, leaders from nations accused of human rights and international law violations, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Rwanda, and Azerbaijan, took a critical stance on Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip. The forum, a prominent gathering of global leaders and policy experts, covered a range of topics, with a significant focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in his keynote speech, emphasized that resolving the conflict in Gaza is crucial for broader peace in the Middle East. He linked the security of the Red Sea to the developments in Gaza, indicating that Israel’s actions are a pivotal factor in regional stability. His stance was further reported by Reuters.
Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani also spoke at the WEF, stressing the importance of addressing the Gaza situation for global security. In his remarks, he suggested that focusing solely on smaller conflicts without tackling the main issue in Gaza would not lead to effective solutions.
Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan participated in the forum, pointing out the impact of the Red Sea conflict on regional travel and trade. He stated that Saudi Arabia’s approach to peace includes resolving the Gaza issue and the establishment of a Palestinian state, as outlined in Bloomberg’s report.
