Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), stated Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” that he believes recent attacks on him and his businesses are part of a coordinated campaign by the political left, aimed at silencing his efforts to uncover government corruption. Musk made the comments during a sit-down interview with host Sean Hannity, where he expressed shock at the scale and intensity of violence directed toward him and his company.

“It’s really come as quite a shock to me that there is this level of, really, hatred and violence from the left,” Musk said. “I always thought that the left, you know, Democrats were supposed to be the party of empathy, the party of caring, and yet they’re burning down cars, firebombing dealerships, they’re firing bullets into dealerships, they’re smashing up Teslas. Tesla is a peaceful company. We’ve never done anything harmful.”

Musk suggested that powerful interests are behind the acts of violence, alleging that the attacks go beyond random acts of vandalism. “I think there are larger forces at work as well. I mean, who’s funding and who’s coordinating it — because this is crazy. I’ve never seen anything like this,” he told Hannity.

Addressing his recent focus on rooting out fraudulent government spending, Musk claimed his actions have provoked those benefiting from corrupt practices. “It turns out when you take away people’s, you know, the money that they’re receiving fraudulently, they get very upset,” he said. “And they basically want to kill me because I’m stopping their fraud, and they want to hurt Tesla because we’re stopping the terrible waste and corruption in the government. And, well, I guess they’re bad people. Bad people do bad things.”

Musk’s comments follow reports of multiple violent incidents targeting Tesla properties, including arson and vandalism, which he linked directly to political opposition. He did not provide specific evidence during the interview regarding coordination or funding of the alleged attacks but maintained that his efforts to increase transparency and efficiency in government spending have made him a target.

Musk, who took on a government role as head of DOGE, has pledged to expose waste and abuse within federal agencies. His remarks underscore growing tensions as he continues to push for reforms, which he argues threaten entrenched interests.
