A California woman’s Substack article and audio recording (available here) of her confrontation with cloud-seeding pilot has gone viral this morning. Over the past several years, she has documented weather modification activities over Tuolumne County, tracked cloud-seeding flights, collected rainwater samples, and engaged with regulatory agencies.
Background and Investigation
Through independent testing, she has analyzed over 20 rainwater samples and submitted multiple Public Records Act requests to agencies such as the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the local Air Pollution Control District. Her findings indicate the presence of heavy metals, including aluminum, barium, strontium, titanium, and magnesium, which she asserts are linked to ongoing cloud-seeding operations.
Rain Sample Findings and Chemical Components
While cloud seeding is typically associated with silver iodide, her rain sample analyses indicate additional metal contaminants. According to documentation she references, cloud-seeding flares contain aluminum and zinc as propellants for the silver iodide. She asserts that these metals persist in the environment following cloud-seeding operations and raises concerns about their long-term impact.
Tracking the Flights
She used FlightRadar24 to monitor a Beech C90 King Air operating in the area. On the evening in question, the aircraft flew repeated loops over Sonora from approximately 5-8 PM.
Later that night, around 10 PM, she observed the same aircraft initiating another round of cloud seeding. The flight data prompted her to visit the Modesto Jet Center, where she attempted to speak directly with the pilots responsible for the operation.
Confrontation with Pilots
At the private airport facility, she approached two pilots and initiated a conversation, which she recorded. In the exchange, she presented her findings, citing specific heavy metals detected in her samples and the repeated flight patterns she had documented. The pilots acknowledged their participation in cloud-seeding operations but deferred her concerns to their superiors, stating that decisions regarding the materials used were beyond their control.
In the audio, she asks the pilots if they are aware that their operations release aluminum, zinc, and other metals. One pilot does not deny the claim but responds that she should speak with their company’s leadership. She continues by stating that she has personally collected rain samples showing increased metal concentrations following seeding flights. The pilots acknowledge that they have been conducting such operations for many years but maintain that they are following directives from contracted agencies.
When asked about the regulatory oversight and the notification of county officials, the pilots state that such matters are handled by their company, Weather Modification International (WMI). She mentions that she has attempted to contact Jody Fischer, Director of Flight Operations at WMI, but has not received a response. The pilots do not provide further comment on the notification process.
Contracts and Funding Sources
Publicly available records show that Turlock Irrigation District (TID) has contracted Weather Modification International for seeding operations. She has obtained documents detailing costs associated with these flights, including payments for flight time, fuel, and materials.
Health and Environmental Implications
She raises concerns about the potential effects of aluminum and other metals on human health and the environment. Her documentation references studies linking metal exposure to neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. She also highlights reports of soil contamination and the sale of genetically modified aluminum-resistant crops, which she connects to ongoing weather modification efforts.
Next Steps and Public Awareness
Following her confrontation with the pilots, she has urged others to take similar action by tracking flight activity, collecting independent environmental samples, and contacting regulatory bodies. She has reiterated that she will continue pursuing official responses and publicizing her findings.
Her efforts have sparked discussions on transparency in geoengineering programs and the accountability of private contractors conducting these operations. She continues to seek a formal response from WMI and state agencies regarding the full scope of materials used in cloud-seeding operations.
