Fundraiser nets $10K for Ginny’s Helping Hand

LEOMINSTER – The recent Murder Mystery Dinner fundraiser to benefit Ginny’s Helping Hand was a huge success, netting $10,000 for the nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a hand up to those in need.

“We are grateful beyond words with how the community showed up to support our first Murder Mystery Dinner,” said Ginny’s Executive Director Brandon Robbins of the Feb. 24 affair held at the Eagles club. “When I started the planning process my goal was to get 100 people in the room. When all was said and done, we had over 240 attendees who were passionate about supporting the impactful work Ginny’s does in our region.”

The lifelong city resident said they plan to make the inaugural fundraiser that sold out an annual event. The captivating “Gangsters in Love” themed murder mystery put on in collaboration with BrickRoad Productions was designed to keep people on the edge of their seats.

“The thing that I enjoyed most about the fundraiser was seeing all of the smiling faces of the people who attended as they enjoyed the comedy and delicious food,” Robbins said.

Several local businesses, organizations, and individuals supported the event including Azelis, Coakley Family Dental, Congressman Jim McGovern, empHowered PR, Health Equity Partnership of North Central Massachusetts, Magic Lamp Consulting, Inc., Sterilite Corporation, United Way of North Central Massachusetts, and Workers Credit Union.

Every month Ginny’s Helping Hand and Food Pantry helps thousands of people in North Central Massachusetts. Robbins said they are thankful for everyone who was involved with the fundraiser.

“Through this event we were able to bring in new funding that will continue to help us grow our reach and provide food, clothing, and shelter to an even larger number of our neighbors who are in need,” he said. “We thank everybody who attended so much for making our first event such a huge success.”

Robbins went on to say that they are “in the planning stages of another exciting event” coming up this fall that the people should keep an eye out for.
