Cao highlighted the nuanced political landscape, cautioning against underestimating Virginia’s potential impact in the upcoming 2024 elections.

In his conversation with Breitbart News, Cao underscored Virginia’s political diversity, considering it not simply a “blue” state but rather a nuanced mix, even suggesting a shade of purple.

He pointed out conservative strongholds in the southern parts and specific counties like Prince William, Fauquier, and Rappahannock in the North, highlighting their increased conservative lean in recent elections.

Referring to the trend witnessed in Governor Glenn Youngkin’s 2021 victory compared to the 2020 presidential election, Cao stressed the potential window for Republicans in 2024, especially with anticipated higher voter turnout during a presidential year.

Additionally, Cao debunked mainstream media narratives about recent Democratic victories in the state legislature, highlighting a more evenly divided electorate and predicting increased voter turnout for the presidential election, which historically draws more people to the polls.

While contrasting himself with Senator Tim Kaine, Cao emphasized his extensive service to the nation, his deep understanding of industry, and his immigrant background, having fled Vietnam as a child. He stressed the importance of securing the border and implementing a balanced immigration system.

Cao addressed the broader Republican agenda, emphasizing the need for a strong legislative body to balance executive power, proposing a three-year limit on regulations by unelected officials in the Executive Branch, advocating for a more robust role for elected officials in shaping laws.

His vision is to empower the legislative branch to make critical decisions rather than relying solely on executive orders. Cao believes this approach would restore the balance of power and ensure more accountability within the government.

Throughout the interview, Cao expressed optimism about Virginia’s role in the political landscape and the potential for Republicans to gain momentum in the Senate race, emphasizing the importance of legislative checks and balances for effective governance.
