Welcome to another episode of Tang Di’s storytelling.
今天要跟大家說的這個故事呢
The story we are telling everyone today
是有關於一句諺語
is regarding a saying
就是人為財死 鳥為食亡
People die for treasure, birds die for food
這個真正的意思
But the real meaning
因為很多人現在人都把這句話給理解偏了
Has been interpreted wrongly by people.
認為說人貪財是人貪財是天經地義的等等這類
They think that it is fair for men to be greedy
其實不是喔
But that is not true.
那這句話的真正意思
What is the real meaning of the proverb?
故事內容是這樣的
The story goes like this.
在魏國有一個人叫鮑子都他為人正直
In the kingdom of Wei, lived a righteous men called Bao Zidu.
他不貪財 也是一個非常好的人
He was not greedy and was a good man.
有一天他走在荒野當中
One day while in the wilderness,
遇到了一位書生
He met a scholar.
那大家知道書生是什麼嗎
Does anyone know what a scholar is?
書生哪 在古代他們是專門就是每天讀書
Their job is to study everyday
為了要考狀元 考秀才
In order to become the number one scholar.
所以他們沒有工作
They don’t have a job
整天就是認真的讀書
They study very hard everyday.
所以叫書生
Thus, they are the scholars.
他看見這個書生面色憔悴
The scholar’s face was pale.
臉色蒼白身體很不舒服的樣子
And he looked like he was sick.
想要向前去關心他的時候
As he stood forward to take care of him,
沒想到這個書生
The scholar
突然心痛病發倒地不起
Suddenly fell down from a heart attack.
鮑子都看到了之後
Bao Zi saw the man fall.
發現啊 怎麼會這樣
What has happened?
趕緊加快腳步呢
He picked up his pace
往前去關心
And reached the scholar.
結果沒想到這個書生
However, the scholar
其實已經沒有了呼吸
Was not breathing
也沒有了心跳 已經死掉了
And had no heartbeat. H e was dead.
於是鮑子都就發出了這個善心善念
Bao Zi suddenly had a compassionate thought.
想說總不能把書生的屍體啊
He didn’t want to leave the scholar’s body
就放在這裡不管
out in the wild.
因為荒野當中難免有獅子老虎
Because there are lions and tigers in the open,
還有飛禽猛獸
and other wild beasts as well.
萬一把書生的屍體當作食物
What if those animals ate
吃掉了怎麼辦呢
the scholar’s body?
那他就發現這個書生的口袋裡有十個金幣
He discovered ten gold coins
還有一本兵書
And a Book of War in the scholar’s pockets.
那什麼叫兵書呢
What is a Book of War?
兵書就是我們把這個在戰場上面
It is a book summarizing the strategies to
如何打勝仗的一些方法都記錄下來
Win battles on the battlefield.
提供給將來要在戰場上打仗的人來用
It educates soldiers on strategies to use in a battle.
那大家都很清楚的
The famous book by Sun Zi called
孫子兵法在這裡
“The Art of War” was here.
那他就想說
He thought to himself
嗯 好我不能這樣子置之不理
I can’t idle by and do nothing.
於是他把書生其中的一個這個金幣賣掉之後
So he sold one of the scholar’s gold coins
將九個金幣放在書生的頭底下
And put the nine gold coins under the scholar’s head.
那兵書就好好
And the Book of War
放在書生的肚子邊
Next to the scholar’s stomach
安葬好了之後 他才安心離開
He left after he buried the scholar.
過了幾年之後他走在路上
After a few years, he was walking on the street
然後就感覺
He heard
有一個騎馬的馬蹄聲
The sound of the horse’s hooves
答答 答答 答答 答答
Dada Dada Dada Dada
很急促的追趕他
Chasing behind him
他轉頭一看
He turned to look.
真的好像是在追他
The man was chasing him
他停下腳步來
He stopped walking
然後那個騎馬人啊
The man on the horse
跳下馬時候非常的生氣
Jumped off the horse angrily,
指著鮑子都說
Pointing his hand at Bao Zidu
你 是強盜
You are a burglar
你 把我兒子的屍體還給我
Give my son’s body back to me!
然後鮑子都一聽
He realized
喔 會不會是當年那位書生的家人呢
“Oh, isn’t this guy the family member of the scholar?”
於是啊 他就把這個
Therefore, He described
當年如何遇到書生的
How he met the scholar
這個整個情況就告訴了這個騎馬人
And the entire process to the man with the horse.
那就騎馬人就當然啊不相信
The man did not believe
這個鮑子都的說法
What Bao had described.
現在的人 哪有不貪財啊
People today are greedy.
錢在那裡 四處無人
When the money is there and no one around
當然屬於我的東西我一定要
People will take something that belongs to them
不是屬於我的東西我就要拿
Or something that doesn’t belong to them.
但是啊 鮑子都沒這麼做喔
However, Bao Zidu did not do any of that.
然後呢這個他就要求鮑子都把他帶到兒子的墳墓前
The man with the horse asked him to take him to his son’s grave.
命令人把這個墳墓給挖開
He ordered people to dig the body up
因為他要把書生帶回家
So he can take the scholar’s body home.
一看發現
The man realized
果真像鮑子都說的
That Bao Zidu was correct.
金幣跟兵書都沒有動
The gold coins and the Book of War was untouched.
那就是賣掉的這個金幣呢
Bao sold the gold coin
做了這個他的後事
In order to bury the scholar.
這個時候啊
That moment
書生的家人就感到非常的慚愧
The scholar’s family members felt guilty
請求這個鮑子都的原諒之後
And asked Bao Zidu for forgiveness
還感謝鮑子都的大仁大義
And they thanked Bao for his generosity.
也因此呢 鮑子都的名聲就響遍了大街小巷
And thus, Bao became well known in the country
那說到這裡大家知道嗎
So did you know?
其實啊如果今天鮑子都他貪財
If Bao was greedy when burying the scholar,
他把書生的這個金幣佔為己有
And he stole the gold coins for himself
你想
Think about it,
他的下場是什麼呢
What would be his consequences?
一定是不好的
It will yield bad results.
可能還要賠上一條命
Maybe even lose his life.
但是他沒有這麼做喔
But he didn’t do that.
他認為不是他的東西
He knows that the objects didn’t belong to him.
他還是一樣
He knew that
就是該屬於誰的
the object belongs to its owner
就是屬於誰的
And Cannot be robbed from its owner.
我們要告訴大家
We want to tell everyone
不是我們的東西真的不要去貪
That we cannot take what doesn’t belong to us.
那這句話的意思常常有人理解錯
Some people always mistaken the meaning of this.
他認為
They think
貪財死掉理所當然
It is normal to stay greedy
不是 是根本就不能貪財
And not that one should not be greedy.
好 所以這邊故事說到這裡大家應該更清楚知道
So now, everyone should know that
人為財死鳥為食亡 都是因為人
People die for money, birds die for food because
因為貪財才會死掉
Of their greed.
然後鳥因為貪吃 貪吃才會死掉
Birds’ die because they are ate way too much.
這樣懂了嗎 應該很清楚對不對
