又到了唐笛說故事的時間了

今天要跟大家說的故事呢
The story we are talking about today
是有關於

午汲小和尚的故事
This is the story of the Little Monk of Wuji Village.
那因為這個故事有比較長一點
Since this story is a bit longer,
所以會分為上下兩集
I'll divide it into two episodes
來跟大家做分享喔
to share with you guys.
好 那今天的故事內容是這樣的
Okay, so here goes the story!
在明朝時期
During the Ming Dynasty,
有個武安市裡面有個午汲村
there was a Wuji Village in Wu'an City
住著一戶李姓人家
where a family named Li lived.
他想要做生意
Li wanted to do business,
於是他來到了山西這裡
so he came here to Shanxi
開起了客棧
and opened an tavern.
那有一個老和尚想要蓋廟
There was an old monk who wanted to build a temple,
他也來到了山西這個地方
so he came to Shanxi
跟這裡的居民來化緣募款
to raise money with the residents.
於是啊
So
他就住進李老闆開的這家客棧
he stayed at the tavern owned by Mr. Li.
因為住的時間有比較長一點
Since he stayed for quite a long time,
所以兩個人啊慢慢的就變朋友
they gradually became friends.
還有 這個老和尚啊
Also, the old monk
也漸漸的對這個李老闆產生了一個信任感喔
gradually developed a sense of trust in Mr. Li.
由於要出去化緣
As the monk was always going out to raise money,
身上帶著這個銀兩啊
it was very inconvenient for him
是非常的不方便
to carry around so much money with him.
那現在跟他講一下這個就是銀兩銀子
Carrying around with so much money
非常的不方便 所以啊
was certainly inconvenient, so
他就想說要找李老闆商量一件事情
the old monk wanted to discuss one thing with Mr. Li,
就是把他化緣回來的錢
that is, if he could leave the money he raised
是不是能夠寄放在李老闆這裡
here in Mr. Li's care.
那李老闆當然一口氣就答應啦
Mr. Li agreed without hesitation,
因為啊 這個老和尚
Because the old monk
他化緣的時間是很長的
He always spent a lot of time out there raising money.
這個銀兩的這個數目
The amount of money he received
來大家看一下就越來越多
was increasing rapidly.
那李老闆看見日益增加的這個銀兩
When Mr. Li saw this increasing amount of money,
哇 就開始見財起意囉
he began to get greedy.
他起了一個貪念
He was greedy
想要把老和尚的錢
and wanted to possess the old monk's money
來佔為己有
for himself,
於是他就開始偷偷的計劃了
so he started to plan secretly.
有一天啊
One day,
李老闆趁著老和尚出去化緣的時候
while the old monk was out for another fundraising,
就趕緊把客棧給賣了
Li sold the tavern immediately.
收拾起他的錢財
He collected his money,
還有老和尚的錢
and the old monk's,
跑回來他的老家武安
and ran back to his hometown of Wu’an.
等老和尚一回到客棧
When the old monk returned to the tavern,
發現客棧已經被賣掉了
he found that the tavern had been sold
老闆也換人了
and the owner had been replaced.
一問之下
After asking about it,
才知道李老闆已經捲款而逃
he found out that Li had already escaped with all the money.
他非常非常的生氣
He was very, very angry,
一氣之下 竟然就氣死了
so angry that he died.
那說到這個李老闆啊
Speaking of Li,
他拿著貪來的錢
with the money he stole away,
回到了武安這裡
he returned to Wu'an
買了很多很多的田地
and bought a lot of lands.
做的生意啊是越做越大
His business got bigger and bigger,
結果成為了這個
and he became one of the biggest tycoons
武安市裡面數一數二的大財主
in Wu’an City.
有一天
One day,
李財主在午睡睡夢中
when Li was taking a nap,
他夢見了多年以前的老和尚
he dreamed that the old monk from many years ago
來到了他的面前 對著他說
came to him and said to him,
該把我的錢還我了
"It is time to give my money back.”
剛好
At the same time,
這個家裡的丫鬟
a servant girl from this house
跑進來對這裡對李財主 喊
came in and shouted to Li,
老爺 老爺二夫人生了個男孩
"Master! Master! The second wife has given birth to a boy!”
那因為這個李財主被這麼一叫啊
When he was awakened
從睡夢中醒來
from his dream,
就問這個丫鬟
he asked the servant girl
生了個什麼
“given birth to what?”
丫鬟說二夫人生了個男孩
The girl said the second wife had given birth to a boy.
這個時候李財主心頭一驚啊
At this moment, Li was shocked
想說
and thought to himself,
啊 該不會是老和尚
"Could it be that the old monk
投胎轉生到他們家當他兒子
has been reincarnated into his family as his son
來討債了吧
to collect his debt?"
就在這個時候啊
At this time,
李財主的大夫人也進屋裡面來了
Li's first wife also came into the house
就說你趕緊啊幫孩子取個名字吧
and said, "You should name the boy right away,"
那因為啊李財主正想著老和尚的事情
He was thinking about the old monk,
就隨口的說
so he unconsciously said,
好那就叫個小和尚吧
"Okay, let's call him Little Monk."
於是李家公子的名字小名就叫做小和尚
So the Li's son's nickname was Little Monk,
大家也都習慣於
and everyone got used to
叫他小和尚了
calling him the Little Monk.
由於這個小和尚的是老和尚投胎轉世
Since this Little Monk is the reincarnation of the old monk
來到李財主要前世債的
who came to Li to collect debts from his past life,
所以到了四歲的時候啊不哭也不笑
he hadn't cried or laughed at the age of 4.
就在有一天
One day,
家裡的僕人不小心摔破了一個碗
a servant of the family accidentally broke a bowl,
嘿沒想到李公子聽到之後
and when Little Monk heard about it,
竟呵呵呵地笑了起來耶
he actually laughed.
那李財主看到之後
When Li saw this,
又叫僕人
he asked the servant
再摔一個碗看看
to break another bowl.
沒想到
Unexpectedly,
李公子一樣又呵呵的笑了起來
the Little Monk laughed again.
因為這個李財主對這孩子十分的溺愛
Because Li spoiled the boy so much,
所以就命令家裡的僕人
he ordered his servants
以後每天都摔碗給小和尚聽
to break bowls every day for the Little Monk.
只要是小和尚開心啊
As long as the Little Monk is happy,
就Ok了
it’s OK.
好啦 那大家想一想
Alright, let's think about this.
這個可以用的碗
These usable bowls,
這麼好的碗
such nice bowls,
每天每天這樣摔
were slammed like this every day,
長期下來
and in the long run,
他要摔掉多少碗
how many bowls would he have to slam?
浪費多少錢呢
How much money would he waste?
所以在武安市這個地方啊
So in Wu'an City,
這裡的居民啊
residents took this act
就把這個摔碗
of slamming a bowl,
摔破碗的這個行為
this act of slamming a bowl,
當作是非常浪費
as very wasteful
而且是一個很不好的行為
and a very bad act.
來告訴家裡的子女
And told their children
用碗要小心
to be careful with the bowls,
否則啊
or
有可能會把家裡的財產
they might spend all
全部花光光喔
the family's money.
在我看來呢
In my opinion,
摔碗這個行為啊
the act of slamming the bowls
就是老和尚來要前世債的方法之一喔
was one of the ways the old monk used to collect debts from his past life.
那我在想啊
I wonder,
有這麼簡單嗎
is it that simple?
到底這個老和尚
What else
還會用什麼樣的方式
will this old monk do
來跟李財主要回他的錢呢
to get his money back?
