Kindness Pays Back: A School’s Achievement Becomes a Blessing
Officials expressed their pride in the achievements of State Junior High School (SMPN) 29 Batam, which was awarded the Bronze Prize in the Kindness Is Cool Contest. With nearly 1,000 students and 32 teachers, the school embraced the initiative, fostering creativity and character development. Their efforts included a school-wide kindness event that engaged over 570 participants, inspiring students to continue spreading kindness and shaping the next generation of leaders. As a result of their success, SMPN 29 Batam will be featured on the Times Square Billboard in New York City during the March 28, 2025, awards celebration.
On March 18th, the Heads of the Education Department and the Youth and Sports Department of Batam City visited the school to personally congratulate them on their achievement.
Despite their remarkable success, SMPN 29 Batam has been struggling with poor infrastructure and a lack of funds for much-needed renovations. However, their participation in the Kindness Is Cool Contest and the pride it brought to Batam City led to an incredible reward—during their visit, city officials announced that the school will undergo a major renovation, expanding into a three-story building to provide better facilities for students.

This transformation will not only improve the school's physical condition but also serve as a powerful testament to how kindness and positive actions can bring real-world blessings.
Additionally, the Head of the Education Department of Batam City declared that SMPN 29 Batam will now serve as a role model for all schools in Batam, encouraging them to integrate kindness-focused activities into their school culture, just as SMPN 29 Batam has done.
A Platform of Goodness, Changing Lives
Recognizing the growing influence of Gan Jing World, officials praised the platform as a "platform of goodness" and highlighted its positive impact on students and communities.
Throughout 2024, Gan Jing World has significantly expanded its presence in Indonesian schools. Community volunteers have visited and distributed materials to hundreds of schools, while Gan Jing World has hosted booths at various school bazaars. Additionally, a webinar for the Education and Culture Office was conducted across five cities, engaging approximately 2,000 school principals and teachers.
With the official proclamation of March 28th as “Gan Jing World Day”, this recognition further solidifies Gan Jing World’s role in fostering digital kindness and ethical engagement in Batam City.
