In this video, I’ll answer the question – what is the fourth amendment? The Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution stipulates that:
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
In the simplest of terms, this amendment protects every American’s right to privacy and freedom from sudden or unreasonable intrusions made by the government or law enforcement. This doesn’t mean, though, that an individual can’t be subject to searches and seizures; rather, it only protects them from those that the law deems to be unreasonable and unnecessary.
