I call this recipe "Back to the USSR". It used to be a very popular dessert that is easy to make and quite tasty - the sweetness of prunes is balanced by the sourness of sour cream, and walnuts bring an additional note of "toastedness" to this unusual ensemble. 

Ingredients (serves 2-3)
about 30 prunes
about 30 walnut or pecan pieces (halves or quarters)
3 tablespoons sour cream
up to 2 tablespoons sugar (depending on the sourness of sour cream; I use about 1/2 tablespoon)

Directions:
Stuff each prune with a piece of walnut.
Divide between 2 or 3 glasses.
Mix sour cream with sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
Pour onto prunes.
Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
Let stand a little before serving for the sour cream to soften the prunes.
Enjoy!

There is also an adult version of this recipe when prunes are boiled in red wine for a few minutes, drained and cooled, and then stuffed with nuts. Quite yummy! :)
