Jon Bon Jovi recently opened up about the challenges he faced in the early years of his 35-year marriage to Dorothea Hurley, admitting that he wasn’t always the perfect spouse.
The iconic “Livin’ On A Prayer” singer candidly confessed to moments where he “got away with murder” in his relationship with Dorothea. Reflecting on his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, Jon acknowledged his past behavior, saying, “I’m not a saint. I’m not saying there weren’t 100 girls in my life. I’m Jon Bon Jovi; it was pretty good.”
Despite his admissions, Jon emphasized that he never lost sight of what truly mattered to him. He recognized the importance of prioritizing his family over any indulgences his fame might afford him, asserting, “If you thought I was ever going to jeopardize my anything for believing the narcissist in me was real, what a stupid thing to do.”
Jon also credited Dorothea’s fearlessness in addressing their relationship issues, highlighting her unwavering support throughout their journey together. He emphasized their shared commitment to weathering the highs and lows of life as a team, stating, “No matter where I went in my career—the ups or the downs—we did it together.”
Expressing profound gratitude for his wife’s influence on their family, Jon acknowledged Dorothea as the cornerstone of their household. He attributed the strength of their bond to her efforts in nurturing their children and maintaining their relationship over the years.
This isn’t the first time Jon has spoken openly about his marriage to Dorothea, whom he married in 1989. He recounted the initial shock their union caused among their circle, but ultimately, Jon asserted his belief in living life on their own terms, regardless of public opinion.
As they celebrate over three decades of marriage, Jon and Dorothea’s enduring love serves as a testament to their resilience and commitment to each other.
