The 4-meter-long pet of a 3-year-old boy in Cambodia scares everyone.
Oeun Sambat, and his best friend - a 4meter-long female python named Chamreun. this boy spends almost all of the day with his "scary" pet, from eating and sleeping to bathing or playing.
"He's been playing with the python since he started crawling," said the boy's mother, Kim Kannara. She was happy to allow her son to sleep with the giant python on his cheek even though it could easily be bitten.
Parents thought pythons were non-venomous and safe for young children, but they were wrong. Most experts warn against exposing children to pythons.
And here are 4 reasons:
Salmonella bacteria
Meat poisoning
Campylobacteriosis
Leptospirosis
Each of these diseases has its own level of danger and list of symptoms.
I'm a preschool teacher and I know the "three-year-old crisis" period is very important in a child's life. It determines the personality, attitude, wisdom, good or bad development direction... of a child.
At this stage of learning to speak and forming a personality, children need to have a lot of contact with their parents, relatives, and teachers to learn to speak human languages and imitate human actions.
But at this stage, all the activities of a child are done with a 4-meter-long python, which is very dangerous. Not to mention losing control and the python can swallow the child.
There have been many tragic accidents happening to children when keeping pythons as pets or playing with pythons. In my opinion, this is a matter of concern, but there are still many parents who let their children play with this scary animal. That is scary and unsettling.
