I have researched various perspectives online and summarized several theme types that I feel are most suitable for Gan Jing World. I hope this helps everyone explore and position their channels.
Tutorial Videos
Google's official data shows that tutorial videos have maintained an annual growth rate of 70%. Tutorial videos are mainly focused on areas such as food, beauty, and DIY home improvement. These videos primarily demonstrate the process of making something, with most YouTubers sharing their unique experiences during the process. Detailed processes and unique techniques are the key factors that make tutorial videos stand out.
What's most important is that tutorial videos have the lowest requirements for video creativity and aesthetics, making them suitable for people with technical backgrounds. However, if you can incorporate aesthetics and professionalism, it will be even better. My channel, in fact, falls into the tutorial category. I chose this theme after conducting research. I personally love this type of content because it is informative and offers substantial improvement. Someone who watches educational channels regularly can likely outperform someone who watches idol dramas every day in just a few years.
In Gan Jing World, tutorials on how to excel in Gan Jing Worldchannel creation are undoubtedly the most popular. Even if 100 bloggers decide to tackle this topic, there will still be an audience. This is because each blogger has their own personality and unique preferences, and there are many aspects to Gan Jing World education. The normal update frequency is once a week, with videos lasting around 10-15 minutes, so it won't disrupt your personal life. If we calculate based on this frequency, if only one blogger updates once a week, they can only make 54 updates in a year. It would take several years to cover all the content mentioned above, and not every topic can be thoroughly explained.
So, I strongly recommend that everyone occasionally updates some educational content about the Gan Jing World because it's a popular topic and is in demand on the Gan Jing World platform. We genuinely need your help to accelerate the platform's development and assist all Gan Jing World bloggers in finding their own paths as quickly as possible.
If your channel doesn't have a specific theme yet, you can consider sharing your skills and experiences whenever possible. No matter how small you think something is, it can likely help others facing similar challenges.
Music Channels
According to YouTube channel analysis data, music content accounts for 46%, ranking first. This is why I initially tried a music channel.
So, if you have musical talent, you should not underestimate the importance of having your own music channel.
Whether you create original content or cover songs, you can find music channel creators to emulate. In my opinion, music channels primarily depend on vocal skills, and the audio quality is crucial. Even static visuals can work for music videos. Of course, if your video quality is excellent, it will enhance the appeal for any channel type.
Instrumental performances are slightly different, and they do require a certain level of visual aesthetics. I suggest trying to cover popular movies or TV show themes, as it can boost your popularity in the early stages of channel development.
Kids Programs
I strongly encourage everyone to develop children's channel content because it aligns with Gan Jing World's core selling points, and the probability of receiving algorithm recommendations is much higher. However, it's not the typical family and parenting content; it should be a professionally curated children's channel with precise theme positioning and content planning.
Currently, the best channel I've seen in this category is "DoReMi Kids Songs," but this channel's professionalism is exceptional. The father has a professional marketing background, and the mother has expertise in children's education. The success of this channel is challenging for amateur bloggers to replicate.
However, I've seen several types of children's channel content that can be emulated. I'll write another article to highlight the most popular types of children's channels later. I hope the talented people in your circle can contribute more to children's channels.
VLOG & Everyday Stories
VLOGs are like video versions of written blogs, and they are one of the most common and popular types of channels. VLOGs, in the form of video diaries, document daily life and immediate thoughts. This type of content has become increasingly popular in recent years because it allows viewers to see bloggers' daily lives, often with minimal editing, which helps create a closer connection with the audience.
All promotion and content production are based on human nature. VLOGs satisfy people's curiosity and voyeuristic tendencies, so on YouTube, millions of people watch VLOG videos every day.
Because the threshold for daily videos is low, competition is fierce. While it's easy to create a daily channel, making a successful one, let alone becoming a super influencer, is not easy. This raises the requirements for video aesthetics and creativity. If you can edit your videos to a high standard, even seemingly mundane topics like housework can attract millions of views. The blogger in the example I provided is a mother and homemaker who is confident in her identity. She doesn't think, "Who would want to watch my boring life as a housewife?" People find her peaceful family life videos soothing.
As you can see, in such videos, the blogger doesn't even show their face. In fact, cooking, animation, unboxing, life and spirit, fitness, travel, DIY, tutorials, and other videos can all be made without any on-camera presence. Even daily life videos can be done from a first-person perspective. Such faceless videos can be very helpful for those who don't like being on camera or have concerns about privacy.
Lifestyle Channels
These are the most common and popular types of videos, covering various topics such as beauty, fashion, cooking, and more. You can find many references, so I won't elaborate further.
Some bloggers might wonder: "With so many topics covered by big influencers, what's the point of doing my own channel?" The answer is that apart from knowledge and entertainment value, emotional value plays a crucial role. People prefer to follow bloggers who are relatable to them: those they know personally, those with a similar lifestyle, those with similar values, those who live in the same city, or those who have had similar experiences. Such bloggers are more likely to establish empathy with their audience. In a sense, no matter what content you create, there will always be an audience because there are people in your life who know you, whom you've helped, who like you, and who care about you.
Many industry professionals believe that the video market reaches saturation at a certain stage of development. What does "niche" mean in this context? Let's take my channel as an example: how to excel in the Gan Jing World channel, including marketing, photography, aesthetics, entrepreneurship, and more. My channel primarily focuses on marketing. If other bloggers also create similar tutorial channels, each focusing on different aspects, they can still attract a large audience. By specializing in one aspect, they can become experts in that area. For instance, within the topic of entrepreneurship knowledge, you can further specialize in various subfields like profiling business celebrities, providing counseling on entrepreneurship psychology, sharing entrepreneurial skills, or analyzing entrepreneurial case studies. Even if many bloggers create entrepreneurship-themed channels, the market won't saturate, and each person can have a unique competitive advantage.
So, you don't have to worry about creating similar content to others. Even if you can't surpass the big influencers immediately, it doesn't mean you can't build your audience.
Unboxing and Reviews
Many beauty and fashion bloggers often review the cosmetics they've used throughout the year and highlight the best products as they approach the end of the year. Additionally, many bloggers purchase new products from certain brands and create unboxing videos, sharing their firsthand experiences with the products. This is what we call "inventory and unboxing" videos.
I've noticed that in the Gan Jing World, many friends enjoy creating family-oriented channels. It's worth noting that toy inventory and review videos are among the most popular types of content. Toy review channels provide valuable insights for parents and children when it comes to buying or using toys. These videos are suitable for family viewing, allowing parents and children to watch channel reviews and toy unboxing videos together.
The most important thing to note is that inventory and unboxing videos are one of the easiest content types for content creators to find collaborations and sponsorships with businesses. If you have the opportunity to access a large number of products, you should definitely seize this opportunity to share your valuable experiences with these products. The more well-known the brand and the more commonly used the products are, the higher the level of interest and engagement tends to be.
Travel and Landscape
A travel channel allows viewers to explore a new country without leaving their homes, and it is also one of the most popular channel themes. If you have the opportunity to travel frequently for business, then this theme might be very suitable for you because not everyone is fortunate enough to have the time and resources to visit so many cities.
But did you know? I believe that travel is also one of the video themes with the lowest entry barriers. That's because anyone can create travel videos about their own city. Perhaps you've lived in your city for a long time and feel like there's not much excitement or novelty, but for everyone who is not in your city, it's a destination worth exploring and vacationing in. Especially for people who are about to move to your city for work and life, they can get to know the local culture and atmosphere through the travel videos you create.
If you are a food enthusiast, you can make a list of all the restaurants in your city.
If you enjoy shopping, you can create an inventory of all the boutique shops and retail stores in your city.
If you love entertainment, you can list all the entertainment venues in your city.
If you appreciate culture, you can share an inventory of cultural landmarks and attractions in your city.
The key is that this theme is also one of the easiest channel types to attract sponsorship and cooperation from businesses.
Business and Branding
This is something most businesses engage in; as long as a brand has some influence, they will typically have a presence on various social media platforms.
However, from my observations, channels owned by corporations and brands often struggle to gain popularity, unless they have a professional marketing and branding team working behind the scenes. But for individual business owners, this can be quite challenging due to limited resources. Corporate and brand channels usually feel distant to individual users, and many people may perceive them as purely focused on selling products. In practice, the results sometimes fall far short of what a third-party influencer can achieve through content marketing on their own. For example, an employee of a company could start their own channel and share their daily experiences working at that company. Combining corporate brand channels with third-party influencer channels, in my opinion, is the most effective approach: one official and one more relatable to the audience.
This is why I encourage all friends involved in sales to establish their own content marketing influencer channels.
Nevertheless, even with these considerations, corporate brand channels are still essential because they help build brand image and industry standing.
Humor and Comedy
Among the top ten YouTubers in the world, half of them primarily focus on creating funny and humorous videos. If you have a knack for humor, don't hesitate to utilize it. You can look for similar YouTubers whose style you admire and gradually develop your unique comedic style.
Short Videos
If you don't have the time to create lengthy videos, consider starting a short video channel. You can create one in just a few seconds, and major platforms encourage short video content creation. The market for short videos is far from saturated.
Regarding the production of short videos, you can refer to the Mojo Tutorial and Creating High-Quality Short Videos With IPhone And Mojo.
