Stalker Who Allegedly Made Threats To Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Arrested At Germany Eras Show

Taylor Swift’s highly successful Eras tour hit an unexpected snag during her stop in Germany.

The 34-year-old singer, who has always emphasized the importance of safety at her shows, found herself in a troubling situation involving both her and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. According to the Associated Press on Wednesday, July 17, a 34-year-old American male, whose name has not been released, was detained at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The man, who has a history of stalking Swift, was apprehended after making online threats against the couple.

The stalker was arrested before he could cause any harm and will remain in detention until Swift concludes her three-night stint in the city on Friday.

This is not the first time Swift has had to deal with such incidents. In 2019, she spoke to Elle about her ongoing fear of violence, revealing that she carries QuikClot army-grade bandage dressing for gunshot or stab wounds due to repeated stalking incidents. “Websites and tabloids have taken it upon themselves to post every home address I’ve ever had online,” she said. “You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things… Every day I try to remind myself of the good in the world, the love I’ve witnessed, and the faith I have in humanity. We have to live bravely in order to truly feel alive, and that means not being ruled by our greatest fears.”

Despite this unsettling event, fans at the concert were able to enjoy a fantastic show. Swift’s commitment to fan safety was also highlighted by Marren Morris during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Morris recalled signs at Swift’s stadium shows directed at local security, emphasizing a “fan-friendly show” and urging them to be kind and respectful to the attendees.

In the end, the incident did not overshadow the concert, and fans were able to enjoy Swift’s performance, reassured by her dedication to their safety and well-being.
