Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) officially endorsed Bernie Moreno, an Ohio Senate Republican candidate described as a “political outsider,” emphasizing Moreno’s success in business and commitment to constitutional conservatism.
In a written statement, Lee praised Moreno’s qualities, citing his outsider status, business acumen, and alignment with conservative principles. Lee, along with Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and J.D. Vance (R-OH), stands in support of Moreno’s bid for the U.S. Senate, advocating for more principled conservatives capable of challenging political establishment norms.
Moreno’s aim is to unseat Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) in what’s seen as a crucial race in Ohio, a state that has recently shifted toward the Republican party in elections. Moreno’s campaign has launched a substantial $2 million statewide advertising effort, spotlighting his endorsement of former President Donald Trump’s “America First” agenda.
In an advertisement, Moreno stressed the importance of securing the southern border, emphasizing the need to complete the border wall and address issues like drug trafficking and human exploitation by targeting Mexican drug cartels.
Various prominent figures, including former Trump White House member Andrew Surabian, Senators Rubio and Vance, Newt Gingrich, former Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY), Kari Lake, Richard Grenell, and Charlie Kirk, have thrown their support behind Moreno’s Senate bid.

With Democrats holding a narrow 51-49 majority in the Senate, Republicans foresee a promising opportunity to reclaim the majority during the upcoming 2024 election cycle.
