Seattle Kraken Sail to Sixth Straight Victory with 4-1 Win Over Ottawa Senators

by Murat Karul

The Seattle Kraken extended their winning streak to six games with a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night. Tomas Tatar and Andre Burakovsky scored within 3:43 of each other in the second period, contributing to the Kraken’s success.

Yanni Gourde opened the scoring in the first period, while Vince Dunn sealed the win with an empty-net goal and an assist, extending the Kraken’s franchise-record 10-game point streak. Goalie Joey Daccord made 32 saves, maintaining his solid performance after a shutout in the Winter Classic.

Parker Kelly scored the lone goal for the Senators, who struggled to capitalize on opportunities. Despite some positive aspects of their game, interim coach Jacques Martin emphasized the need for consistency throughout the full 60 minutes.

Daccord’s impressive goaltending included a lengthy shutout streak, making it the longest in Kraken history. Despite conceding a late goal, Daccord expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall performance.

The Kraken, an expansion team in the 2021-22 season, continue to make strides in their development. Coach Dave Hakstol praised key goals from Tatar and Burakovsky, highlighting their importance in the team’s success.

The Senators look to bounce back in their upcoming game against Edmonton on Saturday, while the Kraken face Buffalo on Tuesday in their pursuit of continued success.
