Scotney Old Castle in Kent, England. The old castle has been known since the 14th century. Accoring to the layout, it should have been a rectangular fortified manor with four corner towers. It was built on a small island in a tiny lake which served as a moat. Out of four towers (if they were ever built - but it is not known) only the southern one is still there. The southern corner of the manor was rebuilt in the 16th century and was inhabited by the keeper of the estate. At the same time the eastern part turned into ruins - quite romantic ruins that together with a beautiful garden of roses and rhododendrons make a picturesque ensemble for everybody's eyes.
