Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, is reportedly considering fleeing the United States if former President Donald Trump wins the 2024 election. This consideration stems from fears of prosecution and the intense political climate surrounding his activities.

According to Politico, Hunter Biden has expressed concerns in recent discussions with family and friends about the possibility of having to leave the country to avoid prosecution if Trump is re-elected. Currently, Hunter faces up to 42 years in federal prison for tax fraud and gun charges, with an ongoing investigation led by Special Counsel David Weiss.

From Politico:

The younger Biden is facing new criminal charges and could soon be held in contempt of Congress after refusing to testify in a Republican-led hearing meant to impugn the reputations of both him and his father. Those closest to the president have grown more worried about the personal toll it is taking on the older man…

Hunter Biden knows he is in the political crosshairs. In recent conversations with family friends, he has worried that he might have to flee the country if Trump were to be elected president again, according to two people who have spoken to him. He has also worried about the intense scrutiny that his family would face during the 2024 campaign — and went public in recent days with his own concerns about the toll on his father.

“What they’re trying to do is they’re trying to kill me, knowing that it will be a pain greater than my father could be able to handle — and so therefore destroying a presidency in that way,” Hunter Biden told the musician Moby in a podcast released last week.

These revelations emerged amidst Hunter Biden’s defiance of a Congressional subpoena to appear before the House Oversight Committee regarding his foreign business dealings. Instead, he opted to deliver a speech portraying himself as a victim of political retribution and linking his actions to past drug addiction.

Hunter Biden’s legal challenges also include potential contempt of Congress charges for ignoring the Oversight Committee’s subpoena. However, there are doubts about whether the Department of Justice, under Attorney General Merrick Garland, will take action against Joe Biden’s son.

Former President Trump has responded to these developments by mocking Hunter Biden’s statements and speech, echoing his previous criticisms of Hunter’s actions and whereabouts.

This situation highlights the ongoing legal and political drama involving Hunter Biden, reflecting the divisive and charged atmosphere of current American politics. As the 2024 election approaches, the scrutiny and debate over Hunter Biden’s actions and potential legal consequences are likely to intensify.

Trump mocked Hunter’s speech by repeating his infamous “Where’s Hunter?” jab on Truth Social.

Hunter now faces contempt of Congress charges for ignoring the Oversight Committee’s subpoena, but the DOJ led by Attorney General Merrick Garland is unlikely to take action against Joe Biden’s son.
