A senior student at Perry High School in Iowa is identified as the gunman in a school shooting, with social media platforms removing content related to his identity.

A shooting at Perry High School in Perry, Iowa, resulted in multiple injuries. Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante confirmed during a press conference that the incident led to at least three people being injured, including two students and an administrator. NBC News confirmed that the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

WHO 13 has identified Dylan Butler, a senior at Perry High School, as the gunman. Police have not yet confirmed the gunman’s identity. Butler’s TikTok profile, @tooktoomuch, was removed by the platform, but journalist Collin Rugg captured a screen recording of the account before its deletion.

Videos circulating on social media depict Butler’s activities and expressions. In one video captured by White House Correspondent Simon Ateba, Butler is seen discussing his unisex backpack and inquiring about the Devil. Other footage shows him acting out a shooting exchange at a playground and swinging a stick in a yard.

Butler’s social media presence suggests he was a devoted leftist LGBTQ activist. His Reddit account, Dylanpickle1996, and TikTok posts feature gay and trans pride flags, and one of his TikTok posts includes the hashtag #genderfluid. It’s not confirmed if he identifies as genderfluid or is simply an ally.

The aftermath of the shooting was chaotic, with at least five ambulances, multiple police units, air ambulance helicopters, and firefighters responding to the scene, as reported by The Daily Mail.
