In a Thursday night matchup, the Nashville Predators secured a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings, with Ryan O’Reilly contributing a power-play goal and an assist. Gustav Nyquist also found the net, while Roman Josi extended his assist streak to five games. Juuse Saros made 33 saves, helping the Predators claim their third win in four games.
O’Reilly praised Saros for his early-game heroics, describing the contest as a “playoff style” encounter. Drew Doughty scored for the Kings, who suffered their 10th loss in 11 games, despite a strong performance from goaltender David Rittich.
Nyquist’s go-ahead goal in the second period proved crucial, capitalizing on a rebound from Luke Schenn’s shot. O’Reilly had earlier redirected Josi’s shot for a power-play goal.
Despite addressing defensive issues, Kings coach Todd McLellan expressed frustration at the team’s offensive struggles, emphasizing the need to score goals for consistent success.
The Predators’ next challenge is a Saturday matchup against the Arizona Coyotes, while the Kings will host the New York Rangers on the same night.
