Iga Swiatek completed her dominant run to a fourth French Open title with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Jasmine Paolini in the women’s final at Roland Garros on Saturday in Paris.
The top-seeded Swiatek dropped only one set en route to her third consecutive title at the French Open, where she also won in 2020.
Swiatek’s triumph over the 12th-seeded Paolini on Saturday marked her third consecutive straight-sets win over a ranked opponent. She reached the final with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over No. 3 seed Coco Gauff after defeating No. 5 seed Marketa Vondrousova 6-0, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
Saturday also marked Swiatek’s 21st consecutive victory at Roland Garros. The 23-year-old Poland native became the first woman to win three consecutive French Open titles since Justine Henin of Belgium achieved the feat from 2005-07.
Saturday was the first Grand Slam final appearance for Italy’s Paolini.
