In Quemado, Texas, located about 20 miles north of Eagle Pass, a significant assembly of individuals participated in the “Take Our Border Back Rally” held on a private ranch. On Saturday afternoon, a crowd exceeding 500 was reported, engaging in activities that included listening to inspirational speeches and Christian music. According to an event organizer speaking to Breitbart Texas, the aim was to conduct a peaceful protest emphasizing prayer for the nation’s security.

The gathering attracted participants from various parts of the United States, many of whom wore merchandise promoting Donald Trump, the Republican former president. Speakers at the event critiqued the current border policies of President Joe Biden, while advocating for conservative Christian principles. U.S. Representative Keith Self was quoted criticizing Biden’s border policies as “serious” and “evil,” framing the situation as a “spiritual battle for the survival of our Republic.”

Eagle Pass has recently been in the spotlight due to disagreements between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and President Biden over border control strategies. Abbott, alongside 14 other Republican governors, announced plans for a press conference in Eagle Pass to discuss their border control measures, which include deploying troops and establishing physical barriers along the Rio Grande.

The rally also saw reactions to a reported threat to a migrant processing center in Eagle Pass, which led to its evacuation by U.S. border officials. Despite this, the rally proceeded without incident, with law enforcement ensuring the safety and order of the event.

Participants at the rally shared varied motivations for attending, with many highlighting the conservative Christian message and the desire to actively contribute to discussions on immigration and border security. Notable attendees included conservative figures such as Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent, who offered their perspectives during the event.

The “Take Our Border Back” initiative began with a vehicle convoy from Virginia, arriving in Quemado on Friday night. The rally in Quemado is part of a series of events planned across the southwest border, with additional gatherings in Arizona and California.

Despite the peaceful nature of the rally, there were instances of external groups attempting to disrupt or capitalize on the event for unrelated causes. Organizers and participants were advised to focus on the rally’s message and avoid engagement with any provocative demonstrations outside the event’s perimeter.

Overall, the rally in Quemado served as a platform for expressing concerns over immigration policies, showcasing support for Trump, and promoting conservative values among its participants.
