Bernie Moreno Champions ‘America First’ Border Policies in Ohio Senate Race

By Gloria Ogbonna

Ohio businessman Bernie Moreno, vying for the Senate Republican nomination, unveiled his second ad in a $2 million statewide campaign emphasizing his alignment with former President Donald Trump’s robust border strategies.

The ad’s narrator reinforces Moreno’s commitment to prioritizing America’s interests, declaring, “Bernie Moreno puts America first and pledges to secure our southern border.”

In the advertisement, Moreno passionately advocates for fortifying the border, asserting, “Our border is wide open, facilitating the influx of drugs and human trafficking.

We need to complete the wall and authorize the U.S. military to eradicate the Mexican drug cartels.”

Conor McGuinness, a spokesperson for Moreno’s campaign, emphasized the necessity of an “America First” senator collaborating with President Trump to staunch the flow of illegal immigrants. McGuinness stated that Bernie would be resolute in finishing the border wall, dismantling drug cartels, and consistently prioritizing America’s interests.

The campaign aims to elevate Moreno as the prime contender to challenge Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), intensifying the competition for the Republican nomination.

Moreno, in an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, criticized primary opponents Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and Ohio state Sen. Matt Dolan, branding them as staunch proponents of amnesty.

In contrast, during a recent debate, LaRose highlighted the economic impact, emphasizing the contribution of legal immigration to the country and cautioning against drastic measures that might destabilize the economy.

Dolan echoed a similar sentiment during the debate, stressing the need for a thoughtful discussion on the economic value brought by legal immigrants and seeking to discern which individuals among the undocumented population could contribute positively to the United States.

The Ohio Senate race intensifies as Moreno stakes his position on strong border policies aligned with the “America First” agenda, while his opponents advocate for a more nuanced approach to immigration reform and economic considerations.
