Assyrian Dying Lion Relief Replica

Exclusive to the British Museum, a replica of the Assyrian Dying Lion wall relief.

Hand-crafted in the UK, the panel is a replica of the incredibly detailed artistic wall reliefs which decorated the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal’s palace. The panel features a hook on its reverse for wall hanging, and includes a card of provenance.

The original panel represents a scene from one of Ashurbanipal’s famous lion hunts, and the carver has expertly created a realistic portrayal of the lion’s dying moments. He has been shot with an arrow and vomits blood.

The original panel, along with many of its counterparts are housed in the collection of the British Museum.

An incredible piece inspired by the Assyrian galleries.
