The Atlas Mountains are a mountain range in North Africa that span across Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. 1. Toubkal

This is the highest peak in North Africa, reaching 4,167 meters (13,671 feet) above sea level. It is also the most popular destination for mountaineers and trekkers, who can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains from the summit. Toubkal is located in the Toubkal National Park, which was established in 1942 to protect the natural and cultural heritage of the area.
2. Ouanoukrim

This is the second-highest peak in North Africa, with an elevation of 4,089 meters (13,415 feet). It is composed of two summits: Ras Ouanoukrim (4,083 meters) and Timesguida Ouanoukrim (4,089 meters), which are separated by a narrow saddle. Ouanoukrim is less frequented than Toubkal, but offers a challenging and rewarding climb for experienced hikers.
3. M'Goun
This is the third-highest peak in North Africa, with an elevation of 4,071 meters (13,356 feet). It is located in the central High Atlas, about 100 kilometers east of Marrakech. M'Goun is known for its spectacular scenery, featuring deep gorges, green valleys, snow-capped peaks and traditional Berber villages. M'Goun is also a sacred mountain for the local people, who believe that it is inhabited by spirits.
4. Ighil M'Goun

This is the fourth-highest peak in North Africa, with an elevation of 4,068 meters (13,346 feet). It is situated in the same massif as M'Goun, but on its northern side. Ighil M'Goun is less accessible than M'Goun, but offers a more remote and adventurous experience for hikers who seek solitude and wilderness.
5. Bou Iguenouane
This is the fifth-highest peak in North Africa, with an elevation of 4,050 meters (13,287 feet). It is located in the western High Atlas, about 50 kilometers south of Toubkal. Bou Iguenouane is a prominent and isolated peak that dominates the landscape. It has a distinctive pyramidal shape and a rocky summit that requires some scrambling to reach. Bou Iguenouane is also known for its rich flora and fauna, including endemic plants and endangered animals such as the Barbary sheep and the Atlas cedar.
6. Akioud

This is the sixth-highest peak in North Africa, with an elevation of 4,030 meters (13,222 feet). It is located in the eastern High Atlas, near the border with Algeria. Akioud is a rugged and steep mountain that offers a challenging climb for experienced mountaineers. It is part of a complex massif that includes several other peaks above 4,000 meters, such as Azurki (4,010 meters) and Afella (4,021 meters). Akioud is also a popular destination for ski touring in winter.
