The Missing Magic Words

The Missing Magic Words

Once upon a time, in a forest, there lived a little rabbit named Mimi. Mimi was fast, could jump high, and had long, soft ears. Everyone loved her.

But Mimi had a small problem—she often forgot to say "please" and "thank you."

One day, Mimi felt hungry and ran to find Chestnut, the squirrel.

"Give me your nuts!" Mimi said.

Chestnut frowned and said, "You didn’t say the magic word!"

"Magic words? What magic words!" Mimi turned and walked away.

Next, Mimi saw Grandma Bear making a big pot of delicious honey porridge.

"I want some!" Mimi said, opening her mouth.

Grandma Bear shook her head. "Without the magic words, Grandma Bear won’t give you any porridge!"

Mimi started to feel upset. "Why is everyone ignoring me?"

Just then, a little fairy flew down and gently said to Mimi:

"Little rabbit, you've forgotten the two most magical words in the forest!"

"Really? There are magic words?" Mimi asked curiously.

The fairy nodded. "One is 'please,' and the other is 'thank you.' Say them, people will feel happy, and your friends will smile."

Mimi nodded, taking note in her heart.

The next day, Mimi went to find Chestnut.

"Chestnut, could you give me some of your nuts please?"

Chestnut smiled happily. "Of course! You’ve become so polite!"

Then, Mimi went to find Grandma Bear.

"Grandma Bear, your porridge smells so good! May I please have some?"

"Of course, sweetheart. Your words are so sweet; Grandma Bear likes them."

After finishing her porridge, Mimi patted her little tummy and said:

"Thank you! Grandma Bear’s porridge is so delicious!"

Grandma Bear’s eyes squinted with happiness as she smiled.

From that day on, Mimi became the most polite little rabbit in the forest, and everyone loved to be her friend.

And those two magic words—"please" and "thank you"—became the words she loved to say the most.
