WHITE PLAINS – Sharon Toney-Finch, the veteran who was exposed for fraud by Mid-Hudson News over claims of veterans being displaced to make room for migrants, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud and stolen valor in federal court.

Toney-Finch was arrested by the FBI in May 2024 and arraigned on a sealed indictment on charges of wire fraud, theft of government funds, stolen valor, and fraudulent military discharge certificate.  Toney-Finch, who has used addresses in both Orange and Sullivan counties for her residence, entered a plea of not guilty at her arraignment.

The judge has postponed sentencing until September to allow federal probation officers an opportunity to conduct a pre-sentencing investigation and submit a report to the court.

The overview of Toney-Finch’s illicit behavior can be found at the links below.
