NEWBURGH – A 34-year-old Newburgh city resident is under arrest in connection with the June 6, 2024 murder of a 26-year-old Newburgh man in the area of 7 Monument Street.
Police charged Qaadir Smith with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
A second victim sustained non-life-threatening injury.
The arrest culminates an intensive response from the Detective Division of Newburgh Police. The US Marshals Service, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center assisted in the investigation.
