WEST HURLEY – An explosion and fire in a house off Route 28A in West Hurley early Wednesday afternoon brought out several area fire departments.
The fire that broke out shortly after 12:30 is under investigation led by the State Police and Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit.
Area roads were expected to be closes for the remainder of the day.
Officials said there was no threat to public safety.
West Hurley Fire Department was assisted by Empress Advanced Life Support along with Ulster Hose Co. #5, Olive, Centerville-Cedar Grove, Sawkill, Lomontville, Hurley and Woodstock fire departments, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, county DPW, State Police and State office of Fire Prevention and Control/Homeland Security.
