U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday strongly condemned a series of violent attacks targeting Tesla property, labeling them as acts of “domestic terrorism.” The Department of Justice (DOJ) has already charged several individuals involved in the incidents and is actively pursuing further investigations.
In an official statement, Bondi emphasized the DOJ’s commitment to holding those responsible accountable, including individuals orchestrating and financing the attacks behind the scenes.
“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism,” Bondi declared.
“We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes.”
The attacks appear to be linked to ongoing Tesla Takedown protests, which activists have staged in response to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s perceived influence on federal policies. Since President Donald Trump took office on January 20, Musk has supported significant cuts to the federal workforce and the cancellation of government contracts related to humanitarian programs.
Protesters argue that Musk’s growing role in shaping national policy has led to the erosion of critical social services. In response, some activist groups have taken to targeting Tesla facilities in an effort to voice their opposition.
The DOJ has not disclosed the full extent of its investigation but has made clear that it intends to crack down on those responsible for the violence. Law enforcement agencies are working to identify key players involved in planning and financing the attacks, and additional charges may follow.
Meanwhile, Tesla has yet to release an official statement regarding the attacks, but sources close to the company indicate that security measures at Tesla properties have been significantly heightened.
As tensions between activists and Tesla escalate, federal authorities are bracing for further unrest. The DOJ’s aggressive stance suggests that future attacks will be met with swift legal repercussions.
