SUNY Orange faculty contract wins approval of oversight committees

GOSHEN – A new collective bargaining agreement tentatively approved by the Orange County Community College Faculty Association and the college has received the approval of its two county legislative oversight committees on Monday.

College Vice President for Administration and Finance Paul Martland said it is a five-year agreement.

“Eighty-five percent of our budget is salaries and benefits. That’s the key for us. The annual salaries of increases over a five-year contract are four percent, four percent, three percent, three percent and four percent, for an average annual value of 3.6 percent,” he told committee members.

The full county legislature must now approve the contract at its next session.
