The media platform Gan Jing World (in Chinese, “gan jing” means clean, pure), established in mid-2022 with the mission of creating a positive digital community with healthy content, was unanimously declared of provincial, educational, cultural, and social interest by the Honorable Chamber of Representatives of Santiago del Estero, a province in northwestern Argentina, on December 10, 2024.
The project was promoted by the representatives in charge of the Culture and Education Committee of the province, Dr. M. Analía Herrera and Dr. Nora Mercado, and with an interest to have greater reach and diffusion amongst its community for its positive benefits to youth and adults alike.

During the “Zhen Shan Ren”, or “Truth, Benevolence, Tolerance”, art exhibition held at the Honorable Chamber of Representatives on November 11 through November 22, 2024, government authorities learned of Gan Jing World’s purpose - to revitalize traditional connections, foster a culture of care, kindness, mutual respect, and trust between people, within families, and throughout society, and saw it of primary importance to helping youth educators guide their students toward moral and traditional values by considering the digital culture that significantly affects them.
Declaration of Interest No. 562 of the Honorable Chamber of Representatives of Santiago del Estero issued in December 2024, proclaims that “the virtual platform Gan Jing World, a free virtual technological tool based on universal values for the people is of provincial, educational, cultural, and social interest”.
Studies have revealed that 80% of teenagers use social networks, with children as young as three accessing the Internet from intuitive touch devices. Algorithms on social networks are designed to keep people captive surfing the web, generating an addictive loop to the consumption of content offered by these platforms. Social networking platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tinder, and Snapchat are increasingly influencing children, youth, and adults, and this influence is not based on a moral assessment that protects the user from inappropriate content.
The Representatives of Santiago del Estero are concerned about the advance of harmful content on the Internet and even more so that it promotes neuronal and psychological changes that affect the mood, emotions, scale of valuation, sensitivity to social opinion, and behavior of people, especially youth.
The legislative authorities who promoted the declaration of interest also commented on how much they value traditions and talked of how they try to preserve them within their families, and so they were thrilled that Gan Jing World promotes content congruent with values such as kindness and empathy.
Both the Representatives in charge of the Education and Culture Committee, Dr. M. Analía Herrera and Dr. Nora Mercado, and the cultural director in charge of the Legislative Cultural Center of the Honorable Chamber, Mrs. Perla Jiménez, were able to study and learn in detail the foundations on which the Gan Jing World platform is based and how it protects users before presenting it to the Education and Culture Committee and the Legislative Chamber for the declaration of interest to be approved.
As public servants responsible for promoting good citizenship practices, the Representatives stated that the Declaration of Interest would open doors for more people to learn about the platform and benefit from a digital culture free of harmful content. They expressed that those who follow traditional values can become better people and keep themselves safe from harmful influences that can harm themselves and others. In addition, they proposed, among other activities, that Gan Jing World could be introduced to universities, schools, and educational communities throughout the province.

The success in reaching a crowd of young people, educators, and government officials happened in part because the Honorable Chamber of Representatives is visited daily by large groups of school children from all localities of the province so that up to 150 students per day have been able to tour the art exhibition and also learn about the Gan Jing World platform.

The Beginnings of Gan Jing World in Santiago del Estero
The virtual platform Gan Jing World became known in Santiago del Estero in August 2024 during the Zhen Shan Ren art exhibition at the Casa de la Cultura Argañaraz Alcorta. Students and educators from various schools learned about the platform's benefits during the presentations. They learned how to participate in the contest held by Gan Jing World, “Kindness Is Cool.”
On that occasion, school directors showed interest and requested a presentation of the platform, so an informative meeting was held in person with the teachers, and the information was brought closer to the institution's students.
The educators mentioned that their interest was due to the concern of seeing that the members of their community were significantly affected by addictions, including cell phone addictions, and that it was not only the children and young people but also their parents. Hence, they saw Gan Jing World as a valuable proposal to offset these harmful effects.
