Offices close for summer fun on Fourth of July

Everyone’s favorite midsummer holiday, the Fourth of July, falls on a Thursday this year. While some workers might wish for a four-day holiday weekend, most public offices and agencies are taking only Thursday off, with employees back in tow on Friday.

Here are the offices that will be closed on Thursday:

  The Post-Intelligencer offices will be closed. The newspaper for the next week will be on its regular publication schedule.

  The Henry County courthouse and annex offices.

  Paris city hall and Paris Public Works. 

Thursday sanitation routes will run on Wednesday. The Paris-Henry County Landfill, Animal Shelter and Paris Civic Center will be closed on Thursday.

The Eiffel Tower Park swimming pool and splash pad will be open until 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Paris city hall is closed every Friday.

  Henry City Hall.

  Puryear City Hall (will also be closed Friday).

  Henry County Office on Aging.

  Paris Housing Authority offices (will also be closed Friday).

  Henry County Recycling Center.

  Henry County Extension Service office.

  Paris Post Office windows will be closed and there will be no residential mail delivery.
