Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Extends Contract with JTG Daugherty Racing

JTG Daugherty Racing has officially extended their partnership with driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in a multiyear deal, as announced on Thursday. Stenhouse, who secured victory in the 2023 Daytona 500, will continue piloting the No. 47 Chevrolet for the team.

Although specific terms of the extension were not disclosed, Stenhouse, now 36, expressed his confidence in the team’s capabilities and his own ambitions. “When I joined this team in 2020, I knew both the team and I were capable of putting the No. 47 in Victory Lane,” Stenhouse remarked. “Winning the Daytona 500 last year proved that we can win together.”

Acknowledging the strong foundation and continual growth within the team, Stenhouse shared his enthusiasm for the future, hinting at promising developments ahead. “We have a fantastic group of guys at the shop, great management, solid partners and an ever-improving program,” he noted. “I’m very excited to continue my relationship with the team.”

Stenhouse, a veteran in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2011 with three career wins, currently sits in 27th place in the standings, trailing leader Kyle Larson by 245 points. Despite challenges, Stenhouse has shown consistent performance, including a notable fourth-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway in April.

Team owner Gordon Smith echoed Stenhouse’s sentiments, emphasizing the positive impact Stenhouse has had both on and off the track. “Winning the Daytona 500 was a huge accomplishment for our small team,” Smith said, “and I know we have more trips to Victory Lane in our future with Ricky at the wheel.”
