Retired U.S. Navy Captain Hung Cao, now a Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Virginia, has publicly endorsed former President Donald Trump following the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling disqualifying Trump from the state’s ballot.
Cao, who escaped Vietnam as a child and served extensively in U.S. Naval Special Operations, expressed concerns about the court’s decision, comparing it to actions seen in unstable nations.
Disqualifying the frontrunner to protect the incumbent is the kind of thing I have seen in third-world countries. I never thought I would see it here in America. I'm endorsing @realDonaldTrump for President. Watch my video below 👇 pic.twitter.com/x1Vl149YNz

In a tweet, Cao stated that disqualifying the leading candidate to protect the incumbent echoes events witnessed in third-world countries. He then declared his endorsement of Trump in a video, emphasizing his vote as a decision for America and common sense.
Highlighting the differences between Trump’s and Biden’s presidential tenures, Cao recalled the shift in global dynamics during their respective administrations.
He credited Trump for averting a potential conflict with North Korea and stabilizing Afghanistan, contrasting it with the chaotic withdrawal under the Biden administration that resulted in American casualties.
Cao criticized Biden’s presidency, noting conflicts in Israel and Ukraine, expressing concerns about China’s intentions toward Taiwan, and highlighting economic challenges under Biden’s leadership, including a surge in illegal immigration.
Running for the GOP nomination to challenge Senator Tim Kaine in Virginia’s general election, Cao shared his family’s escape from Vietnam and his dedication to serving the country in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.
He portrayed Virginia as a competitive battleground akin to swing states like Arizona and Pennsylvania, underscoring the need for strong leadership in the Senate.
