Easy homemade pizza using store-bought dough is a delightful alternative to take-out and can be ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 200 grams pizza dough, store-bought
- 1/3 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 cup sliced ham
- 1/3 cup tomato sauce
- 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella
- 2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme, leaves picked
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves, to taste
Instructions:
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Use your palms and fingers to stretch the dough outwards from the center for a thinner crust.
- Optionally, for a more even stretch, rotate the dough in the air with your knuckles. Focus on stretching the edges, not the center.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Brush the inside of a 10" cast-iron skillet with olive oil. Place the stretched dough in the skillet, pressing it down and up the edges.
- Brush the edges of the dough with a bit more olive oil.
- Pre-bake the crust in the oven for about 2 minutes to make it crispier.
- Carefully remove the hot skillet (use oven mitts) and spread tomato sauce over the crust.
- Add pepperoni, ham, mozzarella, and thyme as toppings. Arrange artistically, if desired.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
- Switch to broil for 2 minutes to brown the cheese and toppings.
- Once the crust is golden-brown and the cheese is bubbly, remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes in the skillet.
- Slice and garnish with fresh basil.
Serving Suggestions
