Many people struggle with their faith when they face hardships, sufferings, or unanswered prayers. They wonder why god seems to be silent or distant in their time of need. However, I believe that god is always with us, even when he is silent. Here are six reasons why I hold on to my faith in god, no matter what.
1. God's silence does not mean his absence. God is omnipresent and omniscient, meaning he is everywhere and knows everything. He is aware of our situation and our feelings, even if he does not speak to us directly. He may be silent because he wants us to trust him, to listen to his word, or to grow in our faith.
2. God's silence does not mean his indifference. God is compassionate and merciful, meaning he cares for us and wants the best for us. He loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus to die for our sins and give us eternal life. He may be silent because he is working behind the scenes, preparing blessings for us, or protecting us from harm.
3. God's silence does not mean his inactivity. God is omnipotent and sovereign, meaning he can do anything and he rules over everything. He has a plan and a purpose for our lives, even if we do not understand it. He may be silent because he is waiting for the right time, testing our patience, or teaching us a lesson.
4. God's silence does not mean his rejection. God is faithful and gracious, meaning he keeps his promises and gives us undeserved favor. He has accepted us as his children and forgiven us of our sins, even if we do not deserve it. He may be silent because he is disciplining us, correcting us, or refining us.
5. God's silence does not mean his failure. God is perfect and wise, meaning he makes no mistakes and knows what is best for us. He has the power and the authority to fulfill his will, even if we do not see it. He may be silent because he is allowing us to exercise our free will, to face the consequences of our choices, or to learn from our mistakes.
6. God's silence does not mean his end. God is eternal and unchanging, meaning he has no beginning and no end, and he remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us, even if we feel alone or abandoned. He may be silent because he is preparing a place for us in heaven, where we will see him face to face and hear his voice clearly.
These are the six reasons why I believe in god even when he is silent. I hope they encourage you and strengthen your faith as well. Remember that god loves you and he has a plan for you. Trust him, praise him, and wait for him. He will speak to you in his perfect timing and in his perfect way.
