Brad Pitt racing movie coming soon!! Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton are teaming up to create an exciting new movie centered around the elite racing class of Formula 1. The movie, which is yet to be titled but is rumored to be called "Apex," will be directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on "Top Gun: Maverick."
Brad Pitt racing movie's release date is still uncertain as it is in pre-production, but it is expected to hit theaters in late 2024 or early 2025 before heading to Apple TV+. Fans got a sneak peek at the 2023 British Grand Prix, where the car APXGP was tested on the race track for the movie.
The excitement for this project grew when a first look at the film was unveiled at the 2023 British Grand Prix. The official F1 Twitter page shared images of the car APXGP being tested on the race track, giving fans a taste of the high-speed action that awaits them.
At the British Grand Prix event, Brad Pitt shared intriguing details about the film's plot. He will portray Sonny Hayes, a skilled F1 driver from the 1990s who suffers a devastating crash, causing him to step away from the sport. However, Sonny's friend, played by Javier Bardem, is the owner of a struggling F1 team that has never scored a point and consistently ranks near the bottom of the grid. To turn things around, they enlist the help of a young racing prodigy, portrayed by Damson Idris. In a last-ditch effort to revive the team's fortunes, they bring back Sonny Hayes as a seasoned mentor and driver, leading to a series of thrilling and action-packed events.
While chatting with Sky Sports reporter Martin Brundle, he couldn't contain his excitement over his grid appearance.
Kosinski, known for his skill in creating visually captivating experiences, promises to deliver the same level of excitement he achieved in "Top Gun: Maverick." He is determined to provide viewers with a genuine and immersive cinematic experience, relying on practical effects and in-camera action to capture the heart-pounding essence of Formula 1 racing. By using state-of-the-art cameras that can fit inside the driver's cockpit and record in stunning 6K resolution, the audience will feel like they are right in the driver's seat, experiencing the intense speed and G-forces of the racing world.
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world racing champion, won't take on a starring role in the film but will play a pivotal role behind the scenes, contributing to the film's racing sequences. Hamilton is dedicated to ensuring diversity and representation both on and off-screen, making sure the movie reflects the true spirit of Formula 1.
Speaking to reporters in June 2022, the racing champion explained: “I don't plan to be in it, no.”
One of the most exciting aspects of the film is that Brad Pitt will personally get behind the wheel of Formula 1 race cars for key scenes.
"This should be as authentic as we can get it," Pitt said. "Lewis wants us to respect the sport, that we really show it for what it is. As a civilian, I had no idea what it takes to be a driver. The aggression and dexterity, I have so much respect for it.”
"Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton's Formula 1 movie" promises to be a thrilling and authentic portrayal of the exhilarating world of Formula 1 racing, combining stellar performances, breathtaking in-camera action, and a compelling plot that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. As production progresses, anticipation for this adrenaline-fueled cinematic journey continues to build.
