A hotly contested Supreme Court race in Wisconsin will put President Donald Trump's policies and popularity to the test. With billionaires Elon Musk and George Soros funding the candidates, it's become the most expensive judicial election campaign in U.S. history. Musk visited the state over the weekend, handing million-dollar checks to two voters who signed his petition opposing "activist judges."
Trump says the reciprocal tariffs he is set to announce this week will include all nations, not just a smaller group of 10 to 15 countries with the biggest trade imbalances. The president has promised to unveil a sweeping tariff plan on Wednesday, calling it "Liberation Day." He says the tariffs will protect the domestic economy from unfair global competition.
The death toll from the deadly earthquake in Burma, also known as Myanmar, is now more than 1,700. Thousands more are injured, and hundreds are still missing. Aid groups are racing to find survivors, but damaged roads, communication blackouts, and shortages of medical supplies and heavy machinery are severely hampering rescue efforts.
