The University of Miami has launched an investigation following the emergence of disturbing videos depicting possible hazing activities within a fraternity on campus.

In one video, a young man is seen sitting in a trash can while others consume a liquid and then expel it onto his back, eliciting reactions of disgust from onlookers. Sigma Alpha Epsilon has been identified as the fraternity involved, with the university confirming the authenticity of at least one of the circulating videos.

In response to the concerning footage, the University of Miami released a statement acknowledging the reports of alleged misconduct and affirming their commitment to investigating the matter thoroughly. The statement emphasizes the university’s stance against hazing, both on campus and in accordance with Florida state law.

Despite these developments, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon declined to provide any comment on the situation when approached by NBC6.

The investigation underscores the university’s dedication to upholding student safety and welfare, as well as its zero-tolerance policy towards hazing practices.
