In a strategic move to evade competition with Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated concert movie, “The Eras Tour,” the producer of the horror film “The Exorcist: Believer,” Jason Blum, announced on social media that the movie’s opening date has been shifted a week earlier.

Blum took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to unveil the new release date of October 6, accompanied by the hashtag #TaylorWins. Initially, both “The Exorcist: Believer” and Taylor Swift’s concert film were slated for release on October 13.

On social media, fans had humorously coined the potential double release as “Exorswift.” However, it became evident that the immense popularity of “Swifties” might overshadow the sinister allure of the demonic horror film, which marks the sixth installment in “The Exorcist” franchise.

Taylor Swift’s concert movie, “The Eras Tour,” swiftly shattered advanced sales records on the very first day of presales, in partnership with AMC, the movie chain responsible for distributing the film. AMC reported a staggering $26 million in sales on a single Friday.

“The movie broke records for single-day advance ticket sales revenue at AMC,” the company proudly announced in an official statement. This remarkable feat toppled the previous record held by “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which Swift managed to surpass within a mere three hours, according to AMC.

As soon as Swift unveiled the movie, AMC proactively bolstered its server capacity, anticipating an unprecedented surge in ticket demand. After the initial day of presales, the chain further revealed plans to accommodate soaring interest by scheduling four daily screenings of the film at all AMC theaters nationwide on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
